Deconstructing DASH: How Your Workforce Would Benefit from America's #1 Rated Diet

Complimentary Webinar May 15 & 22, 11am PDT

Robert Kushner Thumb

With so many diets on the market to choose from, how do you choose the diet that is best for your employees and will deliver substantial, sustainable results that will improve their health and help lower your healthcare costs? In January, U.S. News & World Report released its list of Best Diets for 2012. For the second year in a row, the government-endorsed Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) Diet came in first.

Join us for our latest Clear Insights webinar, Deconstructing DASH: How Your Workforce Would Benefit from America's #1 Rated Diet, presented by Robert F. Kushner, MD, Clinical Director of the Northwestern Comprehensive Center on Obesity and one of the 22 expert panelists who rated the Best Diets for 2012. Dr. Kushner will provide an overview of DASH, compare it to other top ranked diets, and offer insights into the evidence behind their design. Dr. Kushner will also discuss the keys to sustainable weight loss and best practices for employers to choose an effective worksite weight loss plan.

Ask Sandi

Question: In the warmer months it's easier to encourage staff to eat more fruit, but do you have any ideas for how we can encourage them to eat more vegetables?

Answer: My biggest reason for loving spring is the vegetables that are in season at this time of year. One of the best ways you can support your employees in their efforts to eat more vegetables is to organize weekly trips to the local farmer's market (or host one at your worksite) to learn about and pick up delicious spring vegetables like asparagus, artichokes, radishes, beets, and chard. You could also organize a weekly organic veggie delivery and set up a salad station in your break room. If your employees want more ideas, direct them to my blog post, Tips For Increasing Your Veggie Intake This Spring.

The representative that I spoke with was helpful and gave me some excellent ideas on what to do when the cravings kicked in. I began to exercise and walk in the evenings, something I would have never done (as a smoker) to help ease the cravings.

I highly recommend your program. I now smell good, my teeth are clean, and when I talk to a smoker, the smell of their breath really is offensive. I never noticed all those things when I smoked. So I thank you for being there and I just wanted to tell you what you teach works.
