Ken Wassum, Associate Director, Clinical Development & Support

This week, Alere Wellbeing welcomes attendees and faculty from around the world for the first International Quitline Institute (IQI). Alere Wellbeing and the University of Washington are partnering to provide a week-long training for tobacco control professionals and representatives from Ministries of Health to improve their existing quitline or start a new quitline. Our guests include individuals from Zambia, Jordan, Hong Kong, China, India, Israel, Argentina, Philippines, Singapore, and Egypt. Our faculty includes experts from Sweden, UK, Australia, Thailand, Korea, South Africa, World Health Organization, American Cancer Society, National Cancer Institute, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Harvard Medical School, North American Quitline Consortium, as well as Alere Wellbeing experts and training facilitators. The IQI training will take place at the W Hotel in downtown Seattle.

We will be hosting a tour of the Alere Wellbeing offices and conducting listening labs on Monday and Wednesday to allow our guests to listen to recorded calls to get a better understanding of how a quitline intervention is delivered. We look forward to the conference and are honored to be working with such distinguished guests.
