Erin Thompson, Content & Social Media Marketing Manager:

In just one week we’ll be traveling to sunny San Diego to attend the WorldatWork Total Rewards 2011 Conference & Exhibition. Carla Hall, Bravo's Top Chef finalist and advocate for healthy, balanced food, will team up with us at the San Diego Convention Center on May 23 and 24 to share delicious, healthy summer recipes and provide cooking demonstrations for conference attendees.

At Alere Wellbeing, we believe that being mindful about eating – what we eat, how much we eat, and how often we eat – is an integral part of healthy behavior change. The Mind & Body® Program teaches participants how to “master the art of eating well” by learning how to improve nutrition without sacrificing taste. Part of our mission is to help individuals rediscover their enjoyment of eating natural, nutritious meals with the understanding that doing so will lead to sustainable behavior change that will ultimately lead to a longer, healthier life.

Carla’s commitment to wellness lines up quite nicely with our own, so we are thrilled at the chance to work with her in San Diego. Carla’s passion for cooking with natural, organic, locally sourced ingredients is enhanced by her adherence to the principles of yoga and meditation. She believes that preparing food can and should be a mindfulness practice, and her work is fueled by a desire to transform and inspire the way others approach food.

Those of you attending the Total Rewards 2011 Conference & Exhibition, please join us at booth #409, where Carla will be sharing tips on cooking with whole foods and also sharing delicious summer recipes with conference attendees. The cooking demonstrations will last for 30 minute each and are scheduled for the following times:

May 23: 11:30, 12:30, 4:30, 5:30
May 24: 11:30, 12:30, 4:30, 5:30
