Ashley Smith, Senior Manager, Human Resources:

Last week, Free & Clear hosted its 3rd Annual Health & Fitness Week in conjunction with National Employee Health & Fitness Day on May 20th. Free & Clear’s wellness philosophy is to provide tools and resources to enable employees to make manageable health improvements. To align with our wellness philosophy and reinforce the methodology of our Mind & Body Program, Free & Clear expanded the National Employee Health & Fitness Day to a week-long event offering healthy events, educational workshops, and stress and relaxation activities. Free & Clear believes in the health and wellness of our employees and is always looking for new ways to encourage healthy behaviors. Our 3rd Annual Health & Fitness Week was another successful testament to Free & Clear’s dedication to healthy behavior change. Things included at this year’s fair were:

• Tasty, nutritious, all natural fruit smoothies
• “Exercise & the Brain” workshops that explained how physical activity and exercise can stimulate the brain
• Ergonomic training sessions focused on “Beating the Sedentary Blues” with helpful, easy-to-do workplace stretches
• Muscle relaxation massages to provide employees with a brief respite from the workday
• Casual 30-minute fitness walks through Pike Place Market and along the waterfront

We believe that Health & Fitness Week brings wellness front and center to the workplace and helps employees keep their personal goals present on their minds.

I love participating in these seminars, thanks for posting this. I'll definitely try and come next time you hold a Health and Fitness week. Walking through Pike Place Market and the Waterfront sounds awesome, and there are good cardio possibilities with all the stairs and hills downtown Seattle!
